There will be a public town hall meeting on February 18, 2025 at City Hall from 4-5 PM to gather community input on the wants and needs for the parks and recreation plan. Residents are encouraged to share their opinions to help shape future improvements.
Downtown Madisonville is pleased to provide a reliable and eco-friendly Level 2 electric vehicle charger (J1772 connection) for those traveling through our community. The station is conveniently located in a public parking lot at 311 Tellico Street, Madisonville, TN 37354, within walking distance of downtown shops, restaurants, and public parks.

In November of 2023, the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Development Disabilities awarded over 400K in grant money to the City of Madisonville to make Kefauver Park a place where people of all abilities can play side by side! July 8, 2024 a ribbon cutting was held to mark the official opening of the playground.

The City of Madisonville recently completed installation on a brand-new playground and splashpad at Houston Park, in downtown, made possible through the generous support of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funds. The splashpad officially opened on May 18th with a ribbon-cutting and celebration and was dedicated in memory of the late Madisonville Mayor, Alfred McClendon.
The addition of this much needed, modern playground and splashpad enhances the recreational offerings of Houston Park, which also includes a basketball court, a lighted walking trail and two pavilions. We look forward to seeing the joy and laughter that will fill this revitalized space, fostering a sense of community and creating a lasting legacy for generations to come. A special thank you to Monroe County Government, for the awarded grant funds, helping the City’s efforts to revitalize downtown Madisonville!
